The Clinical Department for Farm Animals and Food System Science at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria (Vetmeduni), is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in infectious disease epidemiology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the FFG-funded project Zoonoses & Climate, supervised by Associate Professor Amélie Desvars-Larrive in collaboration with the Complexity Science Hub Vienna (CSH).
The project aims to identify climate-sensitive zoonoses that pose highest risks to Austria. It seeks to improve understanding of how climate change affects zoonotic disease dynamics and to develop targeted strategies that support policymakers in strengthening national preparedness and response.

The role involves conducting a systematic literature review and designing a survey, followed by data analysis. It also includes developing causal models, contribute to stakeholder engagement and science-policy translation, and participating in dissemination activities. Additionally, the position involves co-supervising diploma and Master's students and supporting their academic development.
Qualification
Required qualifications
They are seeking a candidate with a PhD in (veterinary) public health, epidemiology, infectious disease ecology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in zoonotic disease epidemiology, preferably with experience in One Health or climate-health research. Proficiency in systematic reviews, survey methods, and/or causal inference is essential, along with programming skills (e.g., in R or Python). Fluency in English is required; German is an asset. The position requires both independent work and collaboration across disciplines and institutions.
