The University of Queensland (UQ) is inviting applications for a Research Fellow position within the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). Working in conjunction with the ARC Research Hub in Zero-Emission Power Generation for Carbon Neutrality (ZeroPC), this role is dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions. The successful candidate will focus on developing innovative thermoelectric technologies specifically aimed at low-grade waste heat recovery. Responsibilities
As a Research Fellow, you will take on a vital role in both the experimental and theoretical advancement of materials science. Key duties include:
- Fabricating, testing, and characterizing new thermoelectric materials and generators.
- Designing and evaluating integrated systems for waste heat recovery.
- Utilizing advanced computational methods, such as density functional theory or finite element analysis, to steer device and material development.
- Authoring academic papers and publishing findings in reputable scientific journals.
- Assisting with future funding applications and grant proposals.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to student researchers within the laboratory.
Qualification Profile
This fellowship is tailored for highly motivated academics with a strong foundation in physical sciences or engineering. To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a recently completed PhD (or be nearing completion) in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrate advanced expertise in the development and analysis of thermoelectric materials and devices.
- Possess a solid track record of peer-reviewed academic publications.

Fellowship Value and Benefits

- Salary Range: A$106,294 to A$113,660 per year (Academic Level A).
