The University of West Florida (UWF) is actively seeking one to two motivated Ph.D. students to join its innovative robotics research group starting in the Spring 2027 semester. This opportunity allows emerging scholars to dive into advanced studies regarding intelligent robotic systems and modeling. Selected researchers will directly contribute to exciting, NSF-funded initiatives focused on the micromanipulation of biological cells and microscopic entities, in addition to exploring robotic manipulation on a macroscale.


Research Opportunities

Students joining the robotics group at UWF will participate in a hands-on, highly technical research environment. Key focus areas and responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded research projects regarding intelligent systems.
  • Developing techniques for the robotic manipulation and micromanipulation of biological cells and microscopic objects.
  • Conducting sophisticated modeling and simulation exercises to improve robotic efficiency.
  • Investigating and designing practical solutions for robotic manipulation at the macroscale.
