The Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Systems Engineering at the University of Rhode Island (URI) is seeking a highly motivated and talented student for a fully funded Ph.D. position in Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will join Dr. Vahid Jahangiri’s research group to participate in a dynamic and collaborative research team.

Qualifications
Candidate Profile
Dr. Jahangiri's research group seeks candidates who possess strong technical capabilities and a passion for engineering innovation. To be eligible for this doctoral position, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Master's degree in mechanical engineering, ocean engineering, or a closely related field.
- Possess a strong academic or research background in structural dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, vibrations, or numerical modeling.
- Have practical programming experience utilizing MATLAB, Python, or alternative computing languages.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for presenting research findings and collaborating effectively.
