Description

A prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship is being offered by the ANTS Lab at Ontario Tech University. The fellowship is supervised by Dr. Li Yang and Dr. Khalil El-Khatib, both ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide. Responsibilities

Research Focus

The appointed fellow will contribute to innovative research in Cybersecurity and AI, addressing critical challenges in emerging technologies. Key research areas include:

• IoT and Network Security: Investigation of security in IoT devices, 5G/6G networks, EV charging infrastructure, and autonomous vehicle systems.
• Intrusion Detection: Development of anomaly detection methods and autonomous cybersecurity systems to enhance threat response.
• AI Optimization Techniques: Application of AutoML, TinyML, model optimization, and multi-objective optimization for secure intelligent systems.
• Adaptive Learning and Defenses: Exploration of concept drift, continual learning, and adversarial machine learning defense strategies. 

Position Details

This postdoctoral fellowship is structured to provide both research autonomy and professional growth:

• Term: One-year appointment with possible renewal based on performance.
• Salary: Base salary of $45,000 per year, inclusive of benefits.
• Teaching Opportunities: Up to two courses may be taught with additional compensation of $8,518 per course.
• Collaboration and Mentorship: Opportunities to work with industry partners and mentor junior researchers.
• Location: Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, approximately 60 km from Toronto. 

Qualification

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

• A PhD obtained within the last five years in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, IT, AI, or a related field.
• A strong publication record in top-tier venues (e.g., IEEE Transactions, CCF-A conferences).
• Demonstrated expertise in multiple research areas listed under the Research Focus section.
• Ability to conduct independent, high-quality research in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
