The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position under the guidance of Professor Sunghan Ryu. The role is hosted within the Postdoctoral Research Station in Business Administration and the Nottingham Case Innovation Centre (NCIC), where pioneering research is carried out at the intersection of generative artificial intelligence, entrepreneurial innovation, and business creativity. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The appointed fellow will be engaged in research that explores how generative AI reshapes entrepreneurial practices, particularly in areas such as opportunity recognition, creative ideation, and business model innovation. A special focus will be placed on the dynamics of human–AI collaboration in problem-solving and its broader implications for emerging ventures. This position is offered on a full-time basis, fixed for two years, and includes a two-month probationary period.

• Research will be undertaken on AI-driven innovation and its influence on entrepreneurial creativity.
• Case studies, as well as qualitative and quantitative analyses, will be designed to examine AI adoption within entrepreneurial ecosystems.
• Active contributions will be made to business case development and scholarly articles in high-impact journals.
• Engagement in collaborations with academic and industry partners will be encouraged to expand research relevance and impact. 

Qualification

Required Qualifications

This fellowship presents an exceptional opportunity for early-career researchers motivated by the convergence of artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Expressions of interest and further inquiries may be directed through the official university communication channels.

• A Ph.D. degree in Management, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Economics, or a closely related discipline (awarded within the last three years).
• Demonstrated expertise in research methodologies, with proficiency in qualitative and/or quantitative analysis.
• Strong English communication skills (both written and spoken) are essential; knowledge of Mandarin is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Prior involvement in AI-focused studies, entrepreneurship research, or case writing will be regarded as an asset.
