Description

One PhD level graduate research assistantship position is available in the Department of Sustainable Bioproducts at Mississippi State University. Successful candidates will be involved in a bio-based materials research program that aims to develop functional Pickering emulsions based on lignocellulosic nanomaterials. The nature of this research topic is highly interdisciplinary, and our research group uses experimental materials science approaches. Candidates should have:

  • Strong motivation and vision in bio-based materials research
  • Master’s (preferred) and/or Bachelor’s degree in wood science/products, agricultural/biological engineering, materials science & engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, or closely related disciplines
  • TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5 (for international students only)

The student is expected to start in the Fall semester 2024. The Department of Sustainable Bioproducts will support funding, which will include graduate student’s stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance.
