Murdoch University’s School of Engineering and Energy is offering a Strategic PhD Scholarship focused on advancing research in mine water modelling and sustainable water management. This research opportunity addresses key technical and environmental challenges facing modern mining operations and environmental stewardship.

Selected candidates will undertake a three-year PhD research project titled “Enhancing Reliability and Sustainability in Mining Operations and Water Management.” Located within the School of Engineering and Energy, successful applicants will collaborate with academic researchers and industry-aligned experts to develop sustainable solutions for water resources and mining infrastructure.


Research Focus

The PhD candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary research aimed at improving water management systems and operational efficiency within the mining sector. Key focus areas include:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Technical Competence: Familiarity or background in water modelling, hydrological systems, computational tools, or mining-related environmental processes.
