Texas Christian University (TCU) is pleased to announce several PhD positions within the Department of Computer Science, starting in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. These opportunities are specifically for highly motivated students ready to join a new research group focused on developing secure and resilient frameworks for cyber-physical systems.

The research group operates at the cutting edge of three converging fields: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Next-Generation Wireless Communication. This initiative is led by an incoming Assistant Professor who is actively seeking dedicated researchers to help drive innovation in efficient and secure communication technologies.


Research Focus Areas

Selected PhD candidates will contribute to research that addresses real-world challenges in modern infrastructure and communication. The primary areas of exploration include:

  • Artificial Intelligence: Leveraging AI to optimize and secure communication networks.  
  • Cybersecurity: Developing defensive mechanisms to protect cyber-physical systems from evolving threats.  
  • Next-Generation Wireless Communication: Designing resilient frameworks for the future of connected devices and systems.


Candidate Qualifications

Prospective students should demonstrate a strong interest in the intersection of AI and security. While specific technical prerequisites are detailed on the lab's prospective students page, the general requirements include:

  • High Motivation: A proactive attitude toward tackling complex research problems.  
  • Academic Alignment: A background or research interest that fits the group’s focus on cybersecurity and wireless systems.
