Description
Adelaide University in South Australia is offering a fully funded Ph.D. position within its Plant Ecophysiology Lab. This research project addresses the urgent global issue of climate change by investigating how the combination of intense heatwaves and droughts impacts the mortality risk of Australian threatened plants.
The project is part of an Australian Research Council (ARC) DECRA initiative led by Dr. Ilaine Silveira Matos. By studying the physiological responses of both mature and young trees, this research aims to improve predictions regarding which species are most vulnerable to extinction. The role offers a comprehensive research experience, including fieldwork, glasshouse experiments, laboratory analysis, and scientific writing.
