Description

Tecnológico de Monterrey invites early-career researchers to apply for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Clean Energy Strategies. Hosted within the Sustainable Energy Research Group (SERG), this role supports Tec’s contribution to the EARNEST (Equitable, Affordable & Resilient Nationwide Energy System Transition) project, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. 

Responsibilities

About the Role

The selected candidate will conduct high-impact research in:

• Energy systems modeling
• Climate scenario analysis
• Decarbonization pathways
• Policy-based tools for decision-making

You will also support the group’s ongoing work by mentoring graduate students, co-authoring scientific publications, and contributing to proposals and technical reports. 

Qualification

Eligibility & Required Expertise

Applicants should:

• Hold a recent PhD (or ScD) in Environmental Sciences, Energy, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
• Have hands-on experience in modeling energy-related emissions and national/subnational energy systems
• Be proficient in Python, and familiar with tools like R, GIS, and machine learning frameworks
• Demonstrate publication in peer-reviewed journals (Q1/Q2 preferred)
• Possess strong English communication skills (oral + written)
