Description

A prestigious postdoctoral fellowship opportunity has been announced by the Centre for Planetary Health and Sustainable Care at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The position has been funded by CIHR and is expected to begin as early as Fall 2025. This fellowship will be hosted within an interdisciplinary research environment, where complex interconnections between human health, equitable care systems, and environmental sustainability are explored. A strong emphasis will be placed on understanding how urban environmental quality impacts birth outcomes.

The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to:

  • Contribute to data analysis, management, and linkage
  • Organize research workshops, seminars, and team meetings
  • Prepare peer-reviewed manuscripts, technical reports, and research deliverables

Qualification

Eligibility & Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • A PhD (or ABD) in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related discipline (completed within the last 5 years)
  • Proficiency in quantitative research methods and software such as R, ArcPro, or QGIS
  • A developing track record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational abilities


Compensation & Benefits

  1. Annual Salary: CAD 65,000
  2. Health benefits, conference travel support, and paid holidays are included. 


Location

This role will be based at Dalhousie University, one of Canada’s top research-intensive institutions and the only East Coast member of the U15 group. The university is located in Halifax, a coastal city known for its high quality of life, cultural richness, and thriving innovation ecosystem.
