Description

A postdoctoral researcher is currently being recruited to join a cutting-edge international research initiative led by Giresun University, Turkey, in collaboration with partners from the United Kingdom. The project is funded under the EUREKA/TEYDEB–TÜBİTAK framework and is focused on the development of advanced web-based flood risk assessment and decision-support systems for urban environments. 

Responsibilities

The selected researcher will work within an interdisciplinary and international team to support the design and implementation of computational tools aimed at improving urban flood resilience and risk management. This work will contribute to the development of scalable, technology-driven platforms to support evidence-based decision-making in urban planning and emergency response. 

Qualification

• Strong research background in civil engineering, hydrology, data science, GIS, flood modeling, or urban planning.
• Proven experience in web-based systems development is highly desirable.
• Skills in spatial analysis tools and methodologies are considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with environmental simulation models is a valuable asset.
• Ability to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams.
• Capacity to contribute to both technical and applied research objectives.
• Strong commitment to impactful, solution-driven academic work.
