Description

The Institute of Business Administration at the University of Zurich invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (60–70%) to join the Chair of "Foundations of Business Administration and Theories of the Firm" under Prof. Dr. A.G. Scherer, starting September 1, 2025. The role involves conducting interdisciplinary research on corporate responsibility, societal challenges like digital populism and fake news, and international governance. Responsibilities include academic research, teaching support, and administrative duties. Candidates must hold a PhD in Business Administration, Sociology, or Political Science, possess strong empirical research skills, and be fluent in German and English. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled. 

Responsibilities

What you have to do?

The role encompasses research (preparing academic papers, working on research projects and grant proposals), teaching (supporting lectures, seminars, and exercises), and administrative tasks in academic self-governance.  

There is an opportunity for academic qualification (potentially habitation in Business Administration) within the framework of a research project, including areas such as organization, international management, digital transformation, business & society, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and business ethics.  

Qualification

They are looking for a candidate with an outstanding doctorate in Business Administration, Sociology, or Political Science. You should be internationally oriented, passionate about business-related questions, and experienced in empirical methods. Excellent German and English skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and reliably.
