Description

A prestigious postdoctoral fellowship opportunity has been announced at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine under the leadership of Dr. Eric Garland, an endowed professor globally recognized for his pioneering work in mindfulness research. This fellowship will be hosted by the ONEMIND (Optimized Neuroscience-Enhanced Mindfulness Intervention Design) lab and is designed for highly motivated candidates in clinical psychology or related fields. A strong interest in mindfulness-based interventions, neuropsychological analysis, and addiction recovery research is highly desirable. 

Responsibilities

The selected fellow will be involved in:

• Delivering mindfulness-based treatments
• Analyzing psychophysiological data from one of the world's largest datasets on opioid misuse and chronic pain
• Co-authoring peer-reviewed publications
• Contributing to clinical trials exploring mindfulness, psychedelics, neurofeedback, and neuromodulation
• Investigating brain mechanisms of compassion, empathy, self-transcendence, and analgesia through mindfulness
• Participating in research on neural reward restructuring and craving reduction via mindful savoring

Qualification

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical psychology or a closely related field, with experience in clinical practice and statistical research methods.
